Bringing Your RV to Henderson’s Line-Up? Your Guide to Visiting Grants Pass, Oregon

If you’re bringing your RV to Henderson’s Line-Up in Grants Pass, Oregon, there’s a good chance you’ll have a little time to spend in our hometown while you’re here. Whether you’re visiting us for an RV alignment, steering or suspension work, a Road Performance Assessment, or another service, we want your experience to be about more than just dropping off your motorhome and waiting for the work to be completed. Henderson’s Line-Up has called Grants Pass home since 1961, and over the years we’ve welcomed RV owners from all over the country to our shop. One of the questions that naturally comes up is, “What should we do while we’re here?” Fortunately, Grants Pass is a pretty great place to have some time to fill. Located along the Rogue River in Southern Oregon, our area offers everything from restaurants and a walk-through downtown to outdoor recreation and day trips. So, while our team is taking care of your motorhome, here are a few ways you can enjoy your time in Grants Pass.
Staying at Henderson’s While We Work on Your RV
You don’t necessarily have to leave the shop while your motorhome is being worked on. Our showroom gives customers a place to wait, and we provide Wi-Fi along with coffee and snacks. We’re also pet-friendly, so if your four-legged traveling companion is along for the adventure, they’re welcome in our showroom too. Of course, if you have several hours—or even a full day—there’s plenty to explore outside the shop. If your appointment requires you to be here overnight, a hotel isnt required, we have 5 dry hook-ups to help make your stay comfortable in your own house on wheels.
Grab a Bite to Eat in Grants Pass
Finding somewhere to eat may be the easiest way to start exploring Grants Pass. Our customer guide, located in the showroom, has grown over the years to include everything from quick breakfasts and coffee to lunch and sit-down dinners.  Rather than trying to list every restaurant in town, there are a few longtime local options worth knowing about. For breakfast or brunch, Ma Mosa’s and LuLu’s are downtown options that have been included among the local favorites in our customer guide. If you’re looking for lunch or dinner, The Laughing Clam is another longtime downtown recommendation. Cartwright’s On The Rogue is another favorite located along the Rogue River and is within walkable distant from the shop. We can’t forget about River’s Edge Restaurant; they offer another chance to enjoy a nice meal alongside the river. If you’re at the shop and aren’t sure where to go, ask us! Our team can point you toward some of our current favorites based on what cuisine is sounding good to you
Have a Few Hours? Explore Downtown Grants Pass
You don’t have to travel far to experience a little bit of Grants Pass. Historic downtown is home to locally owned shops, restaurants and other places to explore. It’s a good option if you simply want to get out of the showroom for a while without committing to an all-day activity. The Rogue River is a HUGE part of Grants Pass. The city’s tourism office highlights the Wild and Scenic Rogue River as one of the area’s major attractions, along with local attractions, arts, shopping, and outdoor recreation. For a simple afternoon, you could explore downtown, grab some lunch, and then spend a little time along the river at Riverside Park. Sometimes you don’t need a packed itinerary. A nice meal and a chance to stretch your legs may be exactly what you want after spending days on the road in your RV.
Experiences in the Area
If you have more time and you’re visiting during the warmer months, one of the most recognizable Grants Pass experiences is getting out on the Rogue River. Hellgate Jetboat Excursions has been a recommendation in our customer guide for years. Their current season generally runs from May through September, with excursions ranging from a shorter one-hour River Run to two-hour scenic excursions and longer brunch and dinner trips.  That’s an especially fun option if your Henderson’s appointment becomes part of a larger Southern Oregon RV trip. Instead of thinking of your service appointment as lost vacation time, you can turn the day into an opportunity to experience something you might not have otherwise seen.
Another longtime recommendation from our Henderson’s customer guide is Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center. Wildlife Images is one of the attractions currently highlighted by Visit Grants Pass and gives visitors an opportunity to learn more about wildlife rehabilitation and the animals cared for at the center. This can be a good choice when you have more than just an hour or two to fill and want to venture beyond downtown Grants Pass.
Have a Full Day? Explore Southern Oregon
If your RV service gives you a full day to explore—or you’ve deliberately added an extra day or two to your trip—Grants Pass is a great starting point for seeing more of Southern Oregon. One option from our customer guide is Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve near Cave Junction. If you’re interested in history and exploring another Southern Oregon community, Jacksonville is another potential day trip. Jacksonville, Oregon, is a remarkably well-preserved 1850s gold rush town turned into a vibrant cultural hub that was voted the number one town in Oregon for a Christmas hallmark movie. While in Jacksonville you can catch live outdoor concerts at the stunning Britt Amphitheater.
Our customer guide also includes some beautiful sightseeing destinations that are a bit farther away, such as Crater Lake and the Oregon Coast. Those are better suited to customers who have additional time and transportation available rather than something we’d suggest for a couple of hours while your RV is in the shop. That’s an important thing to keep in mind when planning your visit to Henderson’s: ask us what your day is likely to look like. If you’re only going to have a short wait, staying close to Grants Pass makes sense. If you’ll have considerably more time, you may have an opportunity to explore farther.
What If You Just Want to Relax?
That’s completely fine too. Not everyone bringing an RV in for service wants to turn the day into a sightseeing trip. You may have already been traveling for several days and simply want somewhere comfortable to relax, grab some food, or catch up on a little work. You’re more than welcome to spend time in our showroom while our technicians work on your motorhome. With Wi-Fi available, you can bring a laptop, read, relax or just chat with us. If you decide halfway through the day that you’re ready to get out and explore, we’re happy to help point you in the right direction.
Staying Overnight in Grants Pass
Some Henderson’s customers travel a considerable distance to get here, so your visit may include an overnight stay. If you want to ditch the RV for a night and not take advantage of our dry hook ups, we understand! Grants Pass has a variety of hotels and other lodging options. Riverside Inn is located along the Rogue River, while options such as Hampton Inn & Suites Grants Pass and La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Grants Pass provide additional choices in town. If you’re traveling with a pet or have specific accessibility or parking needs, we recommend contacting the hotel directly before booking to confirm its current policies and accommodations.
Make Henderson’s Part of Your Southern Oregon RV Trip
We know that bringing your RV in for service isn’t necessarily the most exciting part of RV travel. But if you’re making the trip to Henderson’s Line-Up, we hope you get an opportunity to enjoy a little of the place we’ve called home for more than 65 years. Take a walk-through downtown Grants Pass. Have a tasty meal at a local restaurant. Spend some time along the beautiful Rogue River. Take a jetboat ride if you’re here during the season. Or simply take some time to relax in our showroom while we take care of your vehicle. Most importantly, don’t hesitate to ask our team for recommendations while you’re here. We live here, and we’re happy to help you make the most of your visit.

A Visit to Henderson’s Line-Up: Wild Blue Wanderers Put Their Super C to the Test

Sometimes you get so used to the way your motorhome drives that you don’t realize there may be room for improvement. That’s exactly what Scott at Wild Blue Wanderers discovered when they brought their Super C to Henderson’s Line-Up in Grants Pass, Oregon. They didn’t arrive thinking their motorhome drove badly. In fact, they were already pretty happy with it. But they wanted to have the coach inspected and get another perspective on its steering, suspension, and overall handling. What followed was a great example of why having someone evaluate how a motorhome actually performs on the road can uncover things that aren’t always obvious from the driver’s seat.
