A Great Retirement Option

October 14, 2024

The biggest flux of Americans into retirement status is well upon us as baby boomers born 1945 – 1955 lay aside their careers and businesses and settle into their golden years.

For many, that not only means a change in their daily routine, but also a change in the way they live and where they live. Many are exchanging their now oversized, pricey homes for a comfortable home on wheels. Overall there are about 35 million RV enthusiasts in America and a growing number are the baby boomers as they near or enter retirement.

One of the reasons for its growing popularity is that it combines the potential for life simplification with elegance. A retired couple can live very comfortably in a quality RV with the significant advantage of being able to change scenery on a whim. You can wake up to a glorious sunrise in the Arizona desert and bed down with the sound of the gently crashing waves of the Pacific in a Southern California RV park.

Not only is a change of scenery a simple decision away, but also it is a great way to change your season once you have had enough of it. RV owners by the tens of thousands migrate every year from colder, winter climates to the sunshine and warmth of Arizona, Florida and states in between. Many RV owners who live in the South, flee the hot summers for the cooler mountain states or explore the beauty of our very friendly neighbor, Canada, with its radiant beauty from coast to coast.

With nearly 15,000 RV parks or campgrounds in America and countless more idyllic locations where one can rest for the night without the need for an electrical hookup, the options for RV owners are too numerous and too alluring to pass up. As a result, a growing number of retirees are entering the ranks of freedom seeking, sight seeing, easy paced, full time vacationers, meeting and making friends with other like-minded seniors.

While many are buying new, luxurious RV’s, a new trend is emerging where seniors are getting good bargains on previously owned RV’s. They are choosing to improve the operating performance of their coach by investing in safety features like Safe-T-Plus which keeps your vehicle safe in the event of a blowout, or improved steering control to make the journey as enjoyable as the destination.

The best way to know what improvements will make your coach safer and more enjoyable to drive, is with a Road Performance Assessment (RPA) which is available from Henderson’s Lineup in Grants Pass, Oregon or through a growing network of RPA centers across America. For more information or to schedule one, call us. It may well be the best investment you make on your RV.
